About The Site

Tam Francis is an author who writes period-specific historical fiction/romance. For her site, she wanted to highlight the vintage eras she loves with some fun and quirky customizations.

What she wanted to include:

  • “In The Media” page

  • Contact page

  • Links to purchase her books

  • Link to the website for her blog

With a stylized typewriter font that’s cute without being too cutesy and nods to the history that’s prevalent in her books, I created her a site that’s simple, functional, and speaks to her style as a writer.

Tam Francis Home Page

The home page of Tam’s website focuses on the stories she creates, with quick links to purchase her books and newsletter sign-up, plus a link to her blog. All the important info, right up front.

In The Media

One of the main pages Tam wanted to include on her site, this is a simple HTML list that can be easily updated and links to all of her mentions. A dark overlay in the hero image still highlights the energy of an old-school newsroom.

About Tam

Short and sweet, this About page gives Tam’s history along with some images of things she loves, with her still being front & center in the hero image.

Tam’s Contact Page

Playing on the history of writing correspondence, Tam wanted her contact page to be easy to navigate with a low effort to goal ratio.

Custom Animations

To add an interactive element and visual interest, I added a simple hover effect to the links to purchase Tam’s books. Quick and effective, this adds a unique signal that you’re on the right track to purchase.
