SXSW 2025 Atrium Unit
About The Design
One of the major pieces of signage for SXSW is the Atrium unit, which welcomes visitors to the Austin Convention Center.
For this piece, the main thing I wanted to achieve was movement between the panels and illustrated elements. Music notes flow around the unit like the famous bats of Austin, and large-scale invite the viewer into the slightly surrealist landscape. Overall it’s a fun, bright, and engaging welcome to SXSW!

Unit Mockups
Since this is a large structural piece, a lot of care went into ensuring that all the details were correct and the unit was assembled correctly. I created mockups, prototypes, and diagrams so that everything would be perfect on installation day.
