Whisler’s Austin
About the logo
I was contracted to make some alternate merch branding for Whisler’s bar in Austin, Texas featuring a rabbit that was “cool”.
This hand illustrated rabbit acts as almost a paper doll, with different clothing & accessories easily applied with changing seasons, holidays, or events. In this example, the font treatment also changes based on the rabbit’s accessories - when he’s wearing his classic sunnies, the typeface becomes a little grungier, and a classic script is used when he’s a little more put together.
The Faces of The Rabbit
I love the idea of ever-adaptable branding, and this rabbit is just that. While remaining the key character, the rabbit’s clothes, accessories, props, and style can be changed to mirror upcoming holidays, seasons, events, or merch runs. As an example, I developed 2 rabbit personalities: “After Work Rabbit” and “Surf Rabbit”. Both are fun, recognizable, and brand-specific while giving the client endless options for merchandising and advertising.
