The Flick • Stage Play

About the Poster

““The Flick,” a Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Annie Baker, revolves around three underpaid employees at a run-down movie theater in central Massachusetts that still shows 35mm films. The play explores themes of work, relationships, race, and class, focusing on the evolving workplace dynamics and personal struggles of Avery, Sam, and Rose as they navigate their lives and careers in a world grappling with technology and economic uncertainty.”

The marquee poster for The Flick features the 3 main characters and how their lives revolve around film, becoming part of the film strip themselves. With the play focusing so much on the characters as opposed to a progressive plot, the stars of the show are the three main figures and film itself.
